FROM BUCHAREST
TO THE WORLD
A white belt who refused to let travel be an excuse to stop training. A remote worker who found community on the mats in every city.

THE STORY
It started in Bucharest. A desk, a laptop, and a growing obsession with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Like most white belts, I was hooked from day one. The problem-solving, the humility, the community. But I was also building a remote career that would take me across continents.
The question wasn't “should I travel?” It was “how do I keep training when I do?” Every new city meant finding a new gym, walking through unfamiliar doors, introducing myself as a white belt who just landed. Some days it was terrifying. Most days it was the best decision I made.
BJJ on the Move started as an Instagram account, just documenting the reality. The coworking spaces and the competition mats. The gi stuffed in a carry-on. The open mats where strangers became training partners became friends.
Now it's becoming something bigger: a community for everyone who believes you can have both. The career and the passion. The freedom and the discipline. The journey and the mats.
“Discipline creates freedom. The mats taught me that. Travel proved it.”
— Gautier
OUR VALUES
COMMUNITY
The best part of BJJ isn't the techniques, it's the people. Every gym is a new family. Every open mat is a reunion.
GROWTH
White belt mindset in everything. Every new city is a chance to learn. Every roll is a lesson. Stay humble, keep showing up.
AUTHENTICITY
No fake highlight reels. This is the real life: the jet lag rolls, the language barrier drilling, the sweat-soaked hostel laundry.
MILESTONES
FIRST CLASS IN BUCHAREST
Walked into a BJJ gym with zero experience. Got submitted more times than I can remember. Came back the next day.
FIRST DROP-IN ABROAD
Trained in a new city for the first time. Realized this could be a lifestyle, not just a hobby.
@BJJONTHEMOVE IS BORN
Started documenting the journey. The community began forming around a shared dream.
SOUTHEAST ASIA CHAPTER BEGINS
